POSITION SUMMARY To perform duties relevant to the processing of low value (LVS) shipments in accordance with the Canadian Customs and other government departments regulations and legislation. To provide accurate information and assistance to customers requiring international shipment information. Primary focus of this role is on commercial shipments. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Educational Requirements Post Secondary: • Community College Diploma/ Equivalent Professional accreditation/certification: • Canadian Customs Specialist (CCS) or (CSCB) qualified professional designation is REQUIRED for this role. You must have your certification in place to be considered. Related Experience Requirements Minimum number of years required for entry to this job • One year experience required (FedEx preferred) with basic knowledge of Canadian Customs Regulations related to International Operations Other specific mandatory experience requirements - Incumbents must maintain their CCS designation when in this position. Must achieve annual recurrency points. Technical Skill Requirements Solid knowledge of the following: • Excellent Mathematical Skills • Knowledge of International Customs documentation and regulations • In depth knowledge of customs, agriculture, food and drug, tariff and valuation laws and other government department laws and policies • Demonstrated knowledge of different agency clearance requirements and release processes required.
