      Job Summary:

      As the Senior Staff Accountant, you will support the business by completing assigned monthly journal entries, which include the more complex accounting transactions of the business. The Senior Accountant’s duties also include the review of other team member’s journal entries and work for accuracy and completeness. In addition, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the timely analysis and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts. Review of client and vendor contracts and implementation of invoicing and payment procedures that fully represent the terms of the contracts are also expected. Additional responsibilities may include purchasing card reconciliations, and other tasks as assigned.       Job responsibilities:

      • Timely preparation and completion of journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. These include revenue accruals, related product cost accruals, cash receipts, accrued and accounts receivable, and accrued vendor payables.
      • Review of team member’s work including journal entries and invoice batches to confirm accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
      • Keeping abreast of the latest accounting guidance/literature. Preparing team policy and procedure. Documenting the company’s position on technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition.
      • Review of client and vendor contract terms and guidelines in setting up and completing client billings. Appropriate recording of client invoices and payments based on each client’s specific contract terms.
      • Variance analysis of any revenue or expense actual vs. forecast differences as well as balance sheet account fluctuation analyses.
      • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts by identifying trends and projecting client growth/decreases during the upcoming periods for both revenue and product costs.
      • Continuous review of current processes and recommendations to improve efficiencies.

      Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of experience in Accounting.
      • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office software, especially Excel.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Excellent analytical skills – including the ability to present results.
      • A demonstrated sense of urgency to produce results and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while focusing on completion of the highest priority items in the shortest timeframe possible.
      • Innovation and creativity – a problem solver with excellent organizational skills.
      • Strong leadership skills – combined with the ability to work in a team environment.

      Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

      • Experience with SAP a plus.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in the handling of large data elements is preferred.
