      COLSA Corporation is seeking high-school interns to join COLSA's 2024 summer internship program. We are looking for motivated students who enjoy researching issues related to cyber security.

      • Selected applicant will assist in developing techniques for preventing, detecting and responding to real world cyber attacks.
      • Perform tasks and projects aligned with cybersecurity disciplines in a corporate environment
      • Assists with creation and analysis of routine projects, programs, policies and procedures
      • Performs assigned intern projects and follows them to completion
      • Supports more experienced personnel
      • At conclusion of the internship, interns will brief COLSA senior management on accomplishments

      Required Experience

      Required Qualifications

      • Current high school student enrolled in a STEM or other collegiate prep program
      • A basic understanding of Cybersecurity as well as IP connected devices, and operating systems.
      • Understanding of Linux and Windows shell commands
      • Ability to install and configure operating systems as well as create virtual machines
      • US Citizenship required; Must be able to pass criminal background check prior to start.
      • Must be able to commute to office in Huntsville AL for the entirety of the internship.
      • Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks and document progress.
      • Task Management – must be able to multitask and prioritize work according to business needs.
      • Candidates may be asked to provide references from faculty and/or technical mentors to confirm eligibility.

      Candidates should expect a challenging in-person technical interview.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      Completion of at least one of the following:

      • Industry level certification such as Sec+
      • Completion of advanced placement (AP) Computer Science course or AP Computer Programming course
      • Completion of computer science course at junior or senior level
      • Participation in STEM related extracurricular activity such as Cyber Patriot.
