Job Description
- Req#: 8222
- Selected applicants will assist in developing techniques for preventing, detecting and responding to real world cyber threats and attacks.
- Perform tasks and projects aligned with cybersecurity disciplines in a corporate environment
- Assists with creation and analysis of routine projects, programs, policies and procedures
- Performs assigned intern projects and follows them to completion
- At conclusion of the internship, interns will brief COLSA senior management on accomplishments
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in pursuit of undergraduate degree with a focus in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Engineering-field with emphasis on Cybersecurity.
- Must be willing and able to relocate to Huntsville, AL at his/her own expense for duration of internship
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to pass criminal background check
- Strong communication skills – must be able to adapt between highly technical audiences and business audiences.
- Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks and document progress.
- Task Management – must be able to multitask and prioritize work according to business needs
- Candidates should expect a challenging in-person technical interview.
- Completion of at least one of the following:
- University level cybersecurity course
- University level computer networking course and computer programing course
- A basic understanding of Cybersecurity as well as IP connected devices, operating systems, and cloud-based infrastructure
- Completion of previous Cybersecurity internship
- Understanding of computer programing and/or scripting.
- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows shell commands
- Strong virtualization skills to include VMware and Docker
- Experience and/or projects related to cybersecurity
