Position Summary

Position: Cyber Security Co-Op (Summer/Fall 2024) Location: Seneca Falls, NY Major: Information Security or Related Degree Academic Schedule: January- May 2024 Status: US Citizenship or Permanent Green Card Status is required; position requires access to controlled documents. Our top Cyber Security Operations professionals will offer guidance and mentorship for each candidate, who will also get exposure to Engineering and other professionals.

Essential Responsibilities

Assist the Cyber Security Operations Center with the following:

• Responding to security incidents
• Creation of additional alert for threats
• Tuning of security incidents
• Detection, monitoring, analysis, and escalation of security incidents
• Network scanning and vulnerability assessments
• Train others on primary areas
• Stay up to date on security news
• Analyze network traffic and instruction alerts; discern false positives

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in good standing in the areas of Information Security or related studies.
• Sophomore and junior students are preferred.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Green Card Status is required; position requires access to controlled documents
• Knowledge/experience in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint required.
• Security related certifications a big plus: GCIH, GCFA, CEH, Security+, TCSE
• Minimum 1 year of hands on IT experience in a system administration (Windows/Linux mix) role

Additional Skills/Knowledge

• Well versed in log analysis
• Familiar with common enterprise IT architectures
• IT administrative experience
• Windows/Linux hardening
• Vulnerability Assessment tools (Nessus, Nmap)
• Scripting for automation (Python, Powershell, APIs)
