      HCUS is transforming the way the County does business and seeking an Cybersecurity Analyst in the areas of Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) & Endpoint Security Engineering (ESE) to join our team.       Job Summary:

      We are seeking Cybersecurity Systems Analysts with different experience levels to help safeguard our organization's IT infrastructure. These roles encompass areas of Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) or Endpoint Security (ESE). In this role you would be responsible for analyzing security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing robust defense mechanisms to protect against cyber threats. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, and experience with monitoring tools and incident response.


      Position #1 - Threat & Vulnerability Management Analyst:

      The Threat & Vulnerability Management analyst is responsible for monitoring security systems, analyzing threat intelligence, and coordinating responses to security incidents. The specialist will work closely with other security professionals to develop strategies to protect the organization from cyber threats. The specialist is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities within the organization's enterprise infrastructure. This role involves conducting regular vulnerability scans, analyzing the results, and working with various teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities. The specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating responses to cyber incidents to minimize impact and ensure quick resolution. This role involves using techniques to detect, analyze, and respond to potential threats that have evaded traditional security measures.


      Position #2 - Endpoint Security (ESE) Analyst:

      The Endpoint Security (ESE) analyst refers to the protection of end-user devices such as computers, smartphones, tablets, and servers from cyber threats. It involves deploying security solutions like antivirus software, firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems directly on endpoints to monitor, detect, and respond to malicious activity. ESE is critical in safeguarding sensitive data and preventing unauthorized access, especially as remote work and mobile device usage increase the number of potential attack surfaces.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Monitor and analyze system and network activity for potential security incidents.

      • Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation strategies.

      • Assist in the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies, protocols, and procedures.

      • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations and software updates.

      • Investigate and respond to security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.

      • Generate reports detailing security incidents and mitigation actions.

      • Participate in risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA).

      • Conduct threat modeling and stay current with emerging threats and trends in cybersecurity.

      • Support end-user training and awareness programs related to cybersecurity best practices.

      Education:

      • High School Diploma or GED

      Experience:

      • 2–5 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity or systems analysis.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Proficiency in using SIEM tools, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.

      • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking protocols.

      • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.

      • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.


      Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check that includes being fingerprinted.       Automatic Disqualification:

      • Open arrest for any criminal offense (Felony or Misdemeanor)

      Education:

      • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

      • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) credentials.

      Experience:

      • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and network security principles.

      • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

      • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for automation.

      Location:

      • 406 Caroline St., Houston, Tx 77002

      Working Conditions:

      • May require occasional evening or weekend work during major incidents or upgrades.

      Work Schedule:

      • 8 hours/day

      Work Arrangement:

      • Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
