      The Opportunity:

Seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation and cybersecurity compliance activities, with a focus on Operational Technology (OT) and Facilities-Related Control Systems (FRCS), including HVAC, fire alarm, and energy management systems.

The successful candidate will support both on-site technical discovery and validation, as well as remote development of cybersecurity documentation, while contributing to overall risk management and mission assurance objectives. This position is part of a high-performing cybersecurity team but requires a self-starter capable of working independently, demonstrating initiative, and managing tasks with minimal oversight. The role involves hands-on support for cybersecurity engineering efforts aligned with NIST SP 800-53, eMASS, Tenable, ACAS, and DoD cybersecurity validation practices.

This position is 100% remote but requires up to 30% CONUS and OCONUS travel to conduct on-site assessments and provide direct support to installation-level stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can operate independently while effectively collaborating with Information System Owners (ISOs) and cross-functional teams across cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance disciplines.

      Responsibilities:

      • Execute and support the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle in accordance with NIST SP 800-37 Rev. 2, with emphasis on system categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for IMCOM systems.

      • Apply and interpret NIST SP 800-53 Revisions 4 and 5 to assess, tailor, and document security and privacy controls for both hybrid IT/OT environments and system-specific implementations.

      • Implement and support cybersecurity strategies for Operational Technology (OT) and Facilities-Related Control Systems (FRCS) in alignment with NIST SP 800-82 Rev. 3, with a focus on system reliability, availability, and safety.

      • Conduct field-based discovery, data validation, and technical interviews to support RMF control implementation, boundary analysis, and system accreditation efforts.

      • Use enterprise tools such as eMASS, Tenable.SC, and ACAS to manage security artifacts, conduct vulnerability scanning, generate compliance findings, and validate adherence to DoD cybersecurity directives and DISA STIG requirements.

      • Collaborate with Information System Owners (ISOs), Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), and installation-level stakeholders to ensure full alignment with Army cybersecurity policies, mission assurance priorities, and risk management objectives.

      • Develop and maintain technically accurate, audit-ready, and mission-relevant documentation to support Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages and evaluations of FRCS cybersecurity risk posture.

      • Create, maintain, and validate comprehensive RMF documentation for systems operating at Army installations, including but not limited to:
        o System Security Plans (SSPs)
o Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
        o Security Assessment Reports (SARs)
        o Risk Assessment Reports (RARs)
        o Hardware/Software Inventories
        o Network Topology Diagrams
        o System Boundary Definitions
        o Interconnection Security Agreements (ISAs)
        o Rules of Behavior (ROBs)
        o Incident Response Plans (IRPs)
        o Contingency Plans (CPs)
        o Continuous Monitoring Strategies
        o Security Control Implementation Narratives
o Assessment procedures aligned with NIST SP 800-53A

      Qualifications:

      Required:

      • An active DoD Secret clearance.

      • CompTIA Security+ CE (compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline)

      • 3–7 years of experience supporting RMF implementation, cybersecurity engineering, or assessment and authorization (A&A) within a DoD environment

      • Experience with the following tools and frameworks:
o eMASS for managing the full RMF package lifecycle
o Tenable Security Center (Tenable.SC) and ACAS for vulnerability scanning, analysis, and compliance reporting
        o Control selection, implementation
