Cybersecurity Engineer

As a systems security and network security engineer, you can identify the security system needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to lead the development and implementation of security solutions that will protect our military.

On our team, you’ll troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of networks and security. You’ll use your curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions. Using your knowledge and experience in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, you’ll assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls.

In this role, you’ll closely impact DoD customers by securing our nation's critical infrastructure. With mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

What You’ll Work On:

• Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
• Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises.
• Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas, and leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

You Have:

• 2+ years of experience in Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity
• Experience administering McAfee ePO and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Experience with vulnerability remediation
• Experience with Windows Server or Linux, including RHEL or Ubuntu
• Knowledge of network security and incident response procedures
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud security, Nessus and ACAS Vulnerability scans, and ATO and IATT package requirements
• Knowledge of cybersecurity policy fundamentals and NIST 8510.01, and how to translate these policies to frameworks such as ISO
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAT Level III Certification within 30 days of hire

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with C5ISR Center
• Experience with CVEs and application security, including securing CI/CD pipelines, SonarQube, or Fortify
• Experience with data governance
• Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework
• Experience securing cloud infrastructure and applications in AWS GovCloud
• AWS Certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
