What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide expert communication and consultative support to the VA on system security certification & accreditation and Authority to Operate (ATO) using Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Develop and maintain security-specific documentation, including Incident Response and Disaster Recovery processes
- Facilitate meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to address authorization requirements and identify security gaps
- Utilize the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) tool to manage system records and support ATO processes
- Conduct security analysis and compliance evaluations on IT products using various security evaluation tools
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Degree or certifications in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
- One or more of the following certifications: IAT II, IAM II, IASAE II, ISC2 CISSP, ISC2 CAP, ISC2 SSCP, CompTIA Security+, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years of Information Security experience, including at least 3 years in Cybersecurity and Cloud Security
- Experience in providing consultative support on system security certification & accreditation
- Knowledge of security controls as outlined by NIST, including experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience working with large government agencies similar to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA
- Familiarity with FedRAMP cloud environment and understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Proficiency in conducting security evaluations using tools like Tenable Nessus and Nmap
- Experience in developing security and privacy-related artifacts within project teams
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal and external customers
