      The Intern supports Inova's mission by gaining work experience in one's field within specific areas across the health system. The Intern will gain knowledge and new skills of an area of study or specialty.

      Thousands of users, computers and devices connect around the world to keep medical supply chains moving, medical equipment calibrated, and varying communications and patient records secure. Inova’s cybersecurity team provides cyber intelligence and monitors, detects, responds to and defends against any malicious cyber activity.

      Interns will be exposed to a wide variety of cybersecurity threats, best-in-class cybersecurity tools and operational activities. Your work at Inova will help to protect patients, families and children across a region that supports the White House, cabinet level agencies, military, intelligence agencies, diplomats, law enforcement and other first responders. Few internships will give you such broad, impactful experience.



      Job Responsibilities

      • Gains work experience within one's field within specific areas in Inova.
      • Takes direction in a positive manner.
      • Provides technical and/or analytic feedback and assessments.
      • Serves as project assistant or lead for specific initiatives across Inova Health System.
      • Able to interact effectively with management, staff and other personnel, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.
      • Provides expertise within field of specialty and/or study. Increases knowledge of area of study and or specialty.
      • Demonstrates acquisition and exercise of new skills.
      • Displays progress in level of functionality.
      • Communicates effectively with mentor(s) and over time, demonstrates greater independence and decision making ability.
      • May perform additional duties as assigned.



      Requirements

      • Current student or recent graduate of an accredited associate's, bachelor's or master's degree program.
