      Job Description

      The Information Security Co-op is responsible for supporting the various information security program initiatives and will work closely with internal IT teams. This is an excellent opportunity to get immersed in the Skyworks culture while developing “hands-on” skills and experience supporting activities relating to Information Security Governance Risk and Compliance. To do well in this role, you should have knowledge of the different security frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS) and an understanding of security best practices.

      Responsibilities
      • Prepare and maintain security standards and procedures.
      • Enhance the security training and awareness program for company employees.
      • Conduct phishing simulations and assign security training for repeat offenders.
      • Track and maintain phishing and training statistics for security metrics.
      • Perform internal security controls reviews, identify gaps, and monitor remediation activities through completion.
      • Develop dashboards to showcase the Information Security maturity progression.
      • Help troubleshoot issues with various security toolsets
      • Coordinate the collection of evidence for various compliance initiatives (e.g. CMMC, Privacy)
      • Assist with identity and access management tasks that may include account creation, access changes, researching access events, generating access reports, collecting audit evidence for access events, etc.
      • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Security.

      Qualifications and Education Requirements
      • College student currently enrolled in a degree program in pursuit of Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field preferred
      • Ability to work for 6 consecutive months starting January 2024
      • Ability to understand and interpret security frameworks, compliance concepts and security policy objectives
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
      • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

      Preferred Skills:

      • Familiarity with various security standards and frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO, SANS)
      • Understanding of controls requirements for SOX, GDPR, CPRA and other privacy laws
      • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA or CISM

      The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
