- Provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of attacks/intrusions.
- Provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of anomalous activities.
- Use security tools for continual monitoring and analysis to identify malicious activity.
- Document and escalate incidents that may cause ongoing and immediate impact.
- Analyze identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, etc.
- Perform event correlation.
- Collect intrusion artifacts and be familiar with mitigation of cyber defense incidents.
- Perform incident evidence acquisition and chain of custody.
- Write and distribute after-action reports.
- On-call rotation.
- Administration and use of security technologies such as vulnerability scanning tools, log and event management, anti-malware, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Assist in the evaluation, testing, and assurance criteria for security architectures and designs.
- Assist in the analysis of new and existing security technologies, policies, and processes.
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology or a related field of study preferred.
- 3-4 years of security operations center experience required.
- Technical knowledge of a variety of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, and vulnerability scanning.
- Proficient understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- CYSA+ (Cyber Security Analyst) preferred.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct research into IT security issues and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment .
- A preferred applicant may also possess the following:
- Proficient knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and methodologies.
- Proficient knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
- Proficient knowledge of cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools and their capabilities.
- Knowledge of different classes of attacks and attackers.
- Knowledge of a network attack’s relationship to threats and vulnerabilities.
The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst II is a role within the Cybersecurity Operations Team responsible for detecting and assisting in the response for security alerts and events. The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst II role will assist senior analysts with creating and tuning rules, notifications, and reports in technologies, and documenting processes and procedures therein. This position requires strong analytic skills, good collaboration skills, detailed working knowledge of current and emerging security technologies, and the ability to correlate disparate datasets to identify abnormal behavior.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
