As a skilled data professional proficient in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, analyzing, and visualization, you should be committed to transforming data into readable, goal-driven reports for continued innovation and growth. Additionally, you are a self-starting, motivated, collaborative problem solver who understands how to take complicated data sets and provide simple frameworks.WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Data Analyst II performs routine (journey-level) data analysis and data research work. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics techniques, and other strategies used to analyze and evaluate data to determine effectiveness of program operations in meeting program goals for WIOA, ES, RESEA TANF Choices, SNAP E&T, TAA, Rapid Response, and other programs. End users include departmental staff, TWC leadership and external stakeholders.
-Compile and query data from various internal systems or external data sets.
-Analyze data using standard statistical tools, methods, and techniques to gain insight on trends and patterns.
-Interpret results to identify significant differences in data and communicate them effectively to the intended audience.
-Prepare technical reports to present and interpret data, identify alternative interpretations, and make and justify recommendations on data revisions.
-Assist in developing methods for mitigating data issues and deploys those methods to correct issues.
-Assist in identifying and interpreting data patterns and trends and assessing data quality.
-Clean and prunes data to discard irrelevant information.
-Prepare ad-hoc reports to assist with findings and recommendations often in a short turnaround time.
-May develop or design, spreadsheets, dashboards, or other quality assurance tools to enhance and maximize efficiency in program analysis, technical assistance, and/or policy support materials.
-Assist in the collection, organization, analysis, and preparation of materials in response to requests for information.
-May assist in the training of teammates and other agency staff on programs, policies, and processes.
-Perform other duties as assigned.YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-One year of full-time experience in data science, business analytics, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
-Knowledge and experience in programming languages, such as SQL and Python.
-Demonstrated experience in statistics and analyzing data sets and running queries.
-Practical and demonstrated experience in statistical analysis using statistical packages, such as Excel, R, SPSS and SAS.
-Proficiency in using Tableau, Power BI and other data visualization software.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Excel as well as Word, SharePoint, Access, Outlook, and TEAMS. with MS Office applications with strong emphasis on Microsoft ExcelYOU GAIN:
