Apple is a global leader in corporate renewable energy procurement and has achieved its 100% renewable electricity goal for serving its corporate, retail, and data center facilities. As our operations further expand in 40+ markets, we are looking for a Data Analyst to support our growing Scope 2 and 3 reporting obligations worldwide. This role requires you to work closely with global and cross-functional teams such as Real Estate and Development, Environmental Policy & Social Initiatives, Government Affairs, Finance and Legal, to ensure accurate and transparent reporting.

      Key Qualifications

      • Proficiency in data analysis and data management tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel). Ability to maintain a comprehensive and organized database of emissions data, and supervise renewable energy allocations for reporting purposes.
      • Strong understanding of greenhouse gas emissions accounting and reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol), and experience with corporate Scope 2 reporting.
      • Ability to supervise changes to reporting criteria/standards, and implications to operations. Familiarity with various voluntary and required reporting schemes, such as corporate Scope 2 reporting, CDP, EPEAT, and RE100 is a nice addition.
      • Familiarity with renewable energy certificate tracking platforms globally.
      • Knowledge of electricity/power and renewable markets globally. Understanding of corporate renewable energy procurement options.
      • Strong project management and time management skills to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced global setting.
      • Attention to details and a dedication to data accuracy
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Understanding of grid mix, hourly emissions' accounting, and 24/7 emissions accounting is a plus.

      Description

      The ideal candidate will possess a high level of integrity, creativity, initiative, accountability, communication and interpersonal skills, with a dedication to collaboration and excellence. We are a small team with a big mission. We are seeking a team player who can, - Be responsible for and lead collection, analysis, and reporting of Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions and renewable coverage. - Collaborate with energy providers, utility companies and facility service providers to acquire consumption information and other necessary data, and to understand vendors’ renewable energy strategy. - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to collect renewable generation data, and handle REC allocations in markets where Apple has operations. - Build and maintain sophisticated data analysis tools via Excel, Tableau, and relevant data management software. - Analyze data collected to calculate Scope 2 emissions accurately, and to allocate renewable certificates for maintaining 100% renewable coverage. - Prepare and submit reports. - Ensure accuracy and completeness of all records for auditing and verification purposes. Ensure alignment and consistency across various reporting obligations. - Engage with internal stakeholders to supervise scope expansion, and optimize REC allocation. - Engage with external stakeholders, such as sustainability organizations and industry groups to stay updated on industry benchmarks and standards. - Work with Finance to support REC related quarterly/annual accounting.

      Education & Experience

      Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, data science, sustainability, energy management, or a related field with 1-3 years of professional experience in renewable and carbon data management and reporting.

      • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,300 and $197,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
