  Role overview

  The objective of the role is to contribute towards the setup of a newly centralised BI/Reporting team, Power BI Solution, BI and Data strategy and assist in the journey to managing data and reporting using automated and interactive methods, as well as supporting the Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting team with the new implementation of Power BI as it’s standard reporting and BAU reporting.

  • Understand business requirements in BI context and design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI.
  • Develop and use technical specifications to translate business requirements into a interactive reporting.
  • Analysing data and present data through reports that aid decision-making.
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications and decide timeline to accomplish.
  • Create relationships between data and develop tabular and other multidimensional data models.
  • Perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI
  • Analyse current ETL process, define and design new systems.
  • Data warehouse development.
  • Review and make technical/strategic changes to enhance existing Business Intelligence systems.
  • Ability to perform API integrations.
  • Work with users and team members at all levels for performance improvement and suggestions.
  • Document process, models, designs, and solutions and able to explain, represent.

  Skill requirement

  Hard skills include strong knowledge and experience with:

  • Extensive experience designing, building and maintaining Power BI dashboard (Desktop App & Service).
  • Microsoft SQL. Data manipulation, data integration design and development including APIs
  • Good MS T-SQL scripting
  • Datawarehouse tech: experience developing OLAP cubes and/or in-memory data models.
  • Strong DAX skills to report from tabular data models.
  • Good knowledge of testing approaches/methods, and experience of devising and running testing procedures
