      Discover Impactful Work:

      The Senior SAS Programmer will be responsible for implementing a range of moderate to complex analyses in support of clinical non-interventional studies (NIS) using collected data, such as chart review and prospective studies. This individual will work independently to support the NIS project team on using different data collection methods, such as chart review data, prospective data, and administrative databases. The position requires the ability to provide input in the planning and designing phases of projects and the ability to provide quantitative analysis of study data, as well as working with the scientific researchers and statisticians in the Strategic & Scientific Affairs team. The main programming language to be used for this work is SAS (e.g., SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro

      A day in the Life:

      • Participates in the design of complex multi-form CRFs and the resulting electronic databases
      • Leads the efforts for data cleaning, editing, and validation
      • Implements variable derivation, conducts statistical analyses for the types of studies described above, and produces study output in requested tables and figures using SAS with little or no supervision
      • Conducts validation and review of SAS programs developed by other programmers in the team.
      • Generates output data in clinical regulatory formats using CDISC standards, such as STDM and ADaM.
      • Reviews and assists in the development of a protocol or statistical analyses plan with responsibility for planning and design phases of projects.
      • Independently handles client communication around relevant study analyses as needed. Acts as main point of contact on client calls and present findings when requested.

      Keys to Success:

      Education

      • Education fields: Epidemiology, Health Economics, Biostatistics or related field
      • PhD with at least 3 years of relevant work experience; MSc with at least 5 years of relevant work experience

      Experience

      • Senior level expert in quantitative methods in the statistical analysis of clinical data using SAS (e.g., SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro)
      • Knowledge of medical and AE coding and terminology
      • Experience working with large databases such as MarketScan/Truven, Flatiron/EMR data, or similar is a plus but not required
      • Advanced knowledge of scientific research methods and practical knowledge of research implementation.
      • Experience in Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

      • Demonstrated ability to communicate and document information effectively in written English, including the ability to produce reports, documents, emails and other written pieces which are well-organized, free from errors, and are appropriately adjusted to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
      • Strong organizational, time-management, prioritization and decision-making skills necessary to evaluate, plan and accomplish multiple work goals in a timely fashion.
      • Able to quickly learn and apply new information, skills and procedures.
      • Proactive and positive approach to tasks and projects, as well as resilience when encountering process, project, budget or client changes that are inherent in the consulting environment.
      • Solid communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly develop and sustain positive rapport with internal and external contacts in person, over the phone and by email.
      • Experience presenting ideas to individuals and groups in a formal presentation setting
      • Able to analyze complex issues and evidence, identify cause-effect relationships, and generate effective solutions
      • Delivers a positive internal/external client experience; listens and understand the client's needs, and provides solutions that meet or exceed client expectations
      • Demonstrates sound professional judgment in analyzing, responding to, and resolving inquiries, issues and escalations

      Physical Requirements / Work Environment

      Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pound pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.

      Compensation and Benefits

      The salary range estimated for this position based in Washington is $103,100.00–$171,900.00.
