      Hours: 40 hours per week

      Work: Hybrid 3 days in our Vancouver office


      The Role


      The Data Analyst Intern contributes to GeoComply’s success by developing business-critical scripts and providing teams with intelligence regarding their users based on data observed by the GeoComply Android SDK. In this role, you'll be on the front lines of how we use data to fight digital fraud. You'll gain hands-on experience not just with traditional data analysis but also with integrating AI and machine learning to uncover new insights and patterns. This position reports to the Senior Data Analyst, and you will find yourself constantly challenged and excited about using data to make a real-world impact.

      Key Responsibilities
      • Utilize existing scripts and tools to acquire data from different sources and produce ad-hoc reports.
      • Assist in developing and implementing AI/ML-driven scripts and models for advanced data analysis and predictive insights.
      • Perform script and code reviews to ensure data quality and integrity.
      • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their requirements and derive key metrics.
      • Ensure that all analyses and reports are up to a high standard in terms of data quality and presentation.
      • Contribute ideas towards team development and identify new opportunities to apply AI for deeper data insights.
      • Apply team processes and best practices in all tasks.
      • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s technologies, processes, and teams.


      Who You Are
      • Recently graduated or in pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
      • Proficiency in data processing using a programming language is considered an asset.
      • Efficient in Python, SQL, and Google Sheets.
      • Experience with or a strong interest in AI, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
      • Demonstrated skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
      • Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
      • Ability to work in small collaborative teams in a dynamic working environment.
      • English language skills: fluent in reading and writing, comfortable with listening and speaking.
      • Collaborative and client-centric mindset.
