      Job description:

      Overall Job Purpose:

      Leverage data management and analysis to improve plant reliability and efficiency. This role involves developing predictive maintenance models, managing data integrations, and ensuring the integrity of operational data systems.

      Specific Job Responsibilities:

      • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines specifically tailored for predictive maintenance and reliability optimization.
      • Integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency and accessibility to support reliability analysis.
      • Develop and implement machine learning models to predict potential equipment failures and suggest preventive measures.
      • Ensure the architecture of data solutions supports real-time data processing and analytics.
      • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to understand their data analytics needs and develop solutions that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
      • Create and maintain dashboard visualizations that provide insights into equipment health and operational performance.
      • Adhere to best practices in data governance and compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations.
      • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to equipment performance and reliability metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
      • Develop and implement predictive maintenance models to forecast equipment failures and optimize maintenance schedules.
      • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of operational data across various systems and databases.
      • Generate detailed reports and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
      • Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to understand reliability challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
      • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in data management and reliability engineering.
      • Provide training and support to team members on data tools and reliability methodologies, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making.
      • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data management and reliability practices.

      Job Specific Competencies:

      • Proficient in programming languages, including VBA, Python, Java, and Scala.
      • Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, alongside data pipeline and workflow management tools.
      • Experienced in leveraging data from ERP / business management tools such as Pronto Xi, JDE, etc.
      • Capable of making effective use of data visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau etc.
      • Skilled in database design, implementation, administration, and overall management.
      • Knowledge of big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
      • Strong background in data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence.
      • Familiar with ETL tools, data integration processes, and real-time data processing techniques.
      • Practical experience in applying machine learning techniques and developing predictive models.
      • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex data in a simple, actionable way.
      • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Project management skills and experience in leading projects.

      Experience required to perform in this job

      • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing, mining, or industrial environment.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
