Job Description

- Perform accurate data entry and management in Excel, following best practices for data governance and integrity.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify market trends, operational insights, and customer behavior patterns.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute regular reports using Excel, including historical and real-time data on market and operational metrics.
- Assist in designing a centralized data platform, transitioning data from Excel to a scalable database environment.
- Collaborate with team members to improve data collection, storage, and retrieval methods, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Support the development of data warehousing strategies for a vertically integrated beef business.
- Excel Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in Excel, including the use of macros, pivot tables, lookups, and formula creation for robust data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to organize and manage large datasets within Excel, maintaining accuracy and clarity.
- Technical and Analytical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation as the role evolves.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL for database querying, management, and integration.
- Foundational understanding of data warehousing and database management.
- Data Governance and Quality:
- Knowledge of data entry best practices and data governance to uphold data accuracy and compliance.
- Business Acumen:
- Familiarity with or interest in the cattle and beef industry (a bonus), aiding in contextually relevant data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience managing and analyzing data in Excel.
- Exposure to Python and PostgreSQL, with a willingness to expand these skills.
- $45,000 - $55,000 based on experience

Booth Creek Wagyu (BCW) is a vertically integrated wagyu beef company primarily located in and around Manhattan KS. The vision of BCW is to become the leading direct to consumer premium beef company in the US. BCW consists of four different companies that encompass the raising of terminal and breeding genetics on the ranch, its own processing facility, feedlot operations, and its own sales and distribution company with primary channels consisting of online sales and its own retail specialty “meat market” stores, and wholesale to select restaurants and other meat markets.
