Job Description
- Req#: 480089
- Running and monitoring an analysis pipeline based on the SPANDAK software to ensure smooth flow of multi-processed data across three analysis servers
- Manual inspection of SPANDAK output plots to identify previously undiscovered FRBs within the dataset
- Consultation with other ATA team members to identify and catalog new FRBs against a background of Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and noise
- Must have education and training equivalent to an upper-level undergraduate in an astronomy program
- Must have fluency with programming in bash and Python
- Must have expertise with FRB research and analysis
- Frequent to continuous sitting
- Frequent to continuous use of computer monitor, mouse and keyboard
- Frequent use of standard office equipment

Position Description:
The SETI Institute located in Mt. View, California, is currently seeking a Data Analyst to assist with Fast Radio Burst (FRB) data analysis. This is a remote Part Time position which will be performed as part of the Allen Telescope Array (ATA) team at the Hat Creek Radio Observatory, in Hat Creek, California.
This position requires 5 hours a week of work for a duration of approximately 4 weeks at $23/hour.
