      University Analytics & Institutional Research (UAIR) is looking to hire passionate and experienced individuals who want to apply their analytical skills and learned knowledge to support the educational and research missions of the University of Arizona and the aspirations of its students, faculty, and staff. As a Data Analyst within UAIR, you will support a wide variety of projects, including but not limited to internal and external institutional reporting & analytical summaries, management of internal and public facing reports, dashboard and report development supporting the university's enterprise scale business intelligence platform (UAccess Analytics), data quality validation, and ad hoc analytical and research requests (including data science support) as needed.

      Duties & Responsibilities
      • Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. Primary data focus may include internal student data (enrollment, retention, graduation etc), internal administrative data (finance, human resources, research etc), compulsory external data reporting (federal and state, Common Data Set, IPEDS and ABOR), data exchanges submissions (AAUDE, CSRDE), ranking data (USNWR, Times Higher Ed, etc.) and program accreditation data.
      • Support the University goal of establishing a comprehensive data support infrastructure by being a knowledgeable analyst in various data pillars supported by UAIR.
      • Identify reporting and data analysis needs at the University with the objective of turning data into critical information and knowledge which can be utilized to make sound decisions which support University operations.
      • Communicate and collaborate with other team members and campus partners to understand business requirements and support development of intuitive reports and dashboards with easy-to-use interfaces.
      • Assists campus users including department staff, administrators, faculty and other personnel with data and business intelligence related requests.
      • Visualize business data to enable effective decision making.

      • General knowledge in use of dashboard and data visualization principles, theories and concepts.
      Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
      • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience delivering data analyses of complex data sets that are accurate, responsive, and easily interpretable.
      • Experience with statistical analysis.
      • Experience working with data, business processes, and systems in a higher education environment.
      • Experience working with complex data in a relational database environment.
      • Experience working with SQL (Or other programing languages such as Python, R, etc.)
