      Breaking Ground operates nearly 4,000 units of housing across New York City, along with housing in upstate New York and Connecticut. Supportive housing - affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term - is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness.

      But we didn't stop at providing housing. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.

      The Government Contract Compliance and Data Strategy department is responsible for ensuring the agency’s compliance with government contracts, and overseeing Breaking Ground’s data collection and analytics, and quality assurance efforts. This department plays an integral role in Breaking Ground’s overall mission by ensuring that our work is data informed, high quality, and meets contract and regulatory compliance standards.

      Reporting to the Director, Data Analytics, the Data Analyst , Programs is a key asset in helping the Data S trategy department define metrics for data analysis and respond to data requests in the Street Outreach and transitional housing portfolio s for internal and external stakeholders. T h e Data Analyst design s and complete s routine and scheduled reporting and use programmatic data to analyze outcomes and interventions, supporting Breaking Ground in making more data-driven and evidence-based decision making. Th e Data Analyst has key points of contact with in the Programs D epartm ent to coordinate the work.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :

      • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of program data and client outcomes in o ur street outreach and transitional housing programs
      • Manage data processes and coordinates reporting for internal and external stakeholders
      • Create and maintains documentation and methodology records for analysis performed
      • Use existing and emerging tools to automate reporting where possible
      • With the Director, design larger scale projects
      • Assist in data quality checks across different data systems
      • In partnership with the Data S trategy and Outreach departments ensure timely coordination of information, which may involve some occasion al support outside of business hours
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
      • P roficient in data analysis tools and languages, e.g. excel, SPSS, SQL, R or python and powerBI preferred, or a bility to learn within first month of employment
      • Familiarity with working with and processing data for reports and data visu alizations
      • Consensus builder, able to work closely with different departments and motivate teams to use the data to inform their work
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
