- Makes all necessary efforts to accurately conceptualize stakeholder request(s) to provide data/information needed. Research needed to create reports and/or prepare data is thorough, complete, and correctly identifies necessary data.
- Design and develop complex statistical studies to support data driven decision-making and sampling methodologies. Analyze and interpret statistical data to identify significant differences in relationships among sources of information. Analyze data to identify trends or relationships among variables. Determine appropriate methods for data analysis. Lead and conduct analytics projects to support various quality and process improvement initiatives involving data collection and statistic analysis.
- Stays abreast of data application and analysis through collaboration, research, and training to provide a relevant approach. Must complete a minimum of 15 hours of training relevant to the Business Intelligence System and reporting utilities. Maintains good working relationships to ensure effective and productive collaboration.

Are you the One? We are looking for a Data Analyst who works in the Bureau of Managed Care under the direction of the Manager of Data Quality. Supports reporting and analytic decision making for SC DHHS through data review, compilation, and analysis. Distills raw data and information (to include, but not limited to: policies, regulations, and/or state/regional/national standards) to provide reports and output to Medicaid stakeholders and department leadership. Meets with Medicaid stakeholders to assess needs then designs reports and/or prepares data to provide customized data analysis and reporting. Using all internal and external data available to the agency, this position has the primary responsibility to identify trends in data, perform and report results of statistical analyses in visual representations, and effectively communicate the results to stakeholders. As a member of the Data Solutions Team, the Data Analyst will work with all areas within the agency to research, evaluate and perform statistical analysis for the promotion and improvement of data-driven decision making.The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services offers an exceptional benefits package for FTE and TGE positions that includes:
A bachelor's degree in the Life Sciences, Computer Science or related field and minimum of one (1) year of experience working in data analytics, OR
A master’s degree in the Life Sciences, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Economics, Public Health, Data Science, or related field.
