      Job Summary

      We are currently seeking a Data Analyst Intern to join our Global Internal Audit Data Analytics team. In this role, you will be working with our Director of Innovation & Data Analytics on the digital transformation project and making strategic contributions that shape the internal audit function’s ability to deliver scalable, quality services.

      Program Details

      • Dates: June 3, 2024 – August 9, 2024
      • Location: Chicago, IL| On-site

      Responsibilities

      • Responsible for working with business and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to write clear requirements that improve our analytical and operational processes.
      • Gather, organize, scrub, curate, and evaluate large volumes of data from multiple sources across On-Prem and Cloud environments, including but not limited to databases, flat files, JSON, APIs, etc.
      • Prepare and communicate ‘data stories’ to non-technical users.
      • Execute changes to data models, reports, and dashboards, learning about our internal audit function.
      • Assist the technology audit team with data needs for audit engagements (identification, data collection, interpretation, etc.)
      • Identify new automation opportunities that enable audit teams to work smarter, not harder.

      Abilities / Skills

      • Effective Communication - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to handle sensitive data and findings.
      • TeamworkAbility to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to work well with multi-geographical teams and eager to offer insights that contribute to the strategic direction.
      • Time Management – Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively in the absence of orders.
      • Technical Knowledge- Demonstrated knowledge of data processing, data visualization, and using data to tell a story. Technical aptitude and the ability to pick up new systems quickly is a must.
      • Problem Solving – Ability to define the business problem, uncover new requirements, and propose analytical solutions that align with project objectives.
      • Attention to Detail- Execution of the task-in-hand and meet assigned target dates with accuracy.
      • Intellectual Curiosity- Motivated to learn new tools and independently pursue a stronger understanding of data topics.

      Education & Experience

      • Actively pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, or STEM-related field. Undergrads should have a minimum of 2-3 years completed.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office desktop tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
      • Basic understanding of techniques to prepare large volumes of disparate data.
      • Exposure to reporting technologies and approaches, data modeling techniques, and development leveraging visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau is preferred.
      • Exposure to Python, SQL, and/or Alteryx is preferred.
