      The South Carolina Office of the Comptroller General is seeking a knowledgeable Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist for our Columbia office with the overall responsibility for the development and management of reporting and data analytics systems used to support the operations of the Statewide Accounting Division.

      JOB DUTIES:
      • Implements, upgrades, and supports reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions to meet the information needs and strategic goals of the Division. Provides technical assistance to agencies and helps resolve complex reporting issues. Evaluates current business processes and procedures and recommends appropriate system enhancements or automation solutions which increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Division processes.
      • Serves as the subject matter expert and liaison with the SC Enterprise Information Systems and Office of Technology and Information Services staffs. Communicates business needs with technical staff and ensures business needs are being met. Coordinates all testing, evaluation, and development of information, reporting, and analytic systems to ensure appropriate functional and security requirements are met.
      • Prepares the monthly revenue report for the Monthly Revenue Work Group meetings. Prepares analytics for anticipated discussion by inquiring with agencies prior to the meeting to explain the fluctuations noted in the reports. Works to ensure the discussion points are resolved timely. Ensures accuracy of information provided to the Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office.
      • Prepares reports for Census Bureau submissions. Assists the Director as needed to support the Accounting Division Director with information requests for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Assists in the compilation of the annual Dual Employment Report, Travel Report and other agency required reporting.


      • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and experience in computer system development and modification.

      • Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

      • SCEIS/SAP Business Warehouse and Business Objects experience preferred.
      • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel preferred.
      • Extensive knowledge of report writing, design, and maintenance.
      • Knowledge of governmental accounting.
      • Experienced knowledge of capabilities, techniques, and intricacies of information systems.
      • Ability to provide status reports and other technical reports in a clear and concise manner.
