Job Summary

The Data Analytics/ Power BI internship involves actively participating in analyzing and visualizing data to derive meaningful insights. The intern will gain hands-on experience in leveraging data to inform decision making, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the enhancement of reporting processes.

This position will report to the Vice President of Application Development in Somerset, NJ.

Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to:

• Gathering, cleaning, and transforming data
• Creating compelling visualizations using Power BI
• Creating and maintaining reports to meet business requirements
• Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency in alignment with SHI’s data standards
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and requirements
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices
• Demonstrating proficiency in relevant technologies, including Power BI, SQL, and other data tools

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in good academic standing working towards a bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field

Required Skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Passion for data-driven decision-making
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets
• Understanding of best practices in data visualization
• Proficiency in Excel, including data manipulation and analysis functions
• Proactive, driven, and positive work attitude

Unique Requirements

• Candidate will be required to work 40 hours a week during a 12 week period.

Additional Information

• The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $18.00/Hr. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
