      Department:

      FAES | Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering

      Position available in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University (OSU).

      We seek to hire a motivated individual to support our research team focused on hydrology, soil, and water quality research in Ohio’s agricultural and urban landscapes; position will primarily support the management, analysis, and visualization of data collected by a team of engineers and scientists; primary responsibility will be to develop and deploy computational tools to organize, integrate, and visualize the data gathered between field and laboratory; develop a data management and analysis pipeline to store, process, analyze, and visualize data hydrological and water quality data collected from an edge-of-field monitoring network; assist with the assembly, installation, and routine field sampling equipment and instrumentation to collect water samples from field sites; additional activities will include analysis and building user portal for data, creating GIS maps, and the development of materials, decision support tools, and websites; individual will assist in the field and laboratory to aid in the acquisition of data; provide logistical support to organize outreach and Extension events and stakeholder meetings; opportunity to learn through formal and informal technical trainings on various systems; professional development opportunities are available through relevant conferences and training events.

      Minimum Required Qualifications

      Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

      The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Michael Brooker, Research Scientist in Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering. The position will be part of a large “water-focused” team of senior faculty, staff, and students that work within FABE.

      Position located on the Columbus campus.

      The pay range for this job profile is $ 58,100 - $77,450/annually. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
