      Your opportunity:

      The Facilities Management and Space Planning office manages a complex set of facilities for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, on campus and off – and is responsible for consultation, planning, design and implementation of sophisticated, complicated projects for highly specialized research and academic needs.

      As Data and Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a critical role in our Faculty's analysis of space, strategic planning of space infrastructure, and its compliance with the Council of Ontario Universities space standards. You will collaborate with a high-performing teamof architects, engineers, planners and operations specialist, as well as various Faculty and University stakeholders. Your strong communication and analytical skills will enable you to realize time sensitive goals and empower our Faculty leadership to assess options, weigh alternatives, and make informed decisions.

      Your responsibilities will include:

      • Maintaining and updating databases, and analyzing and optimizing database software
      • Running queries to gather data and writing program scripts to analyze data
      • Building and maintaining dashboards in support of key performance indicators
      • Providing consultative advice on data requirements
      • Producing complex statistical reports and analyzing complex data to inform decision making

      Essential Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science and/or Data Analytics, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
      • Minimum five years' experience in data analytics and business intelligence supporting data-driven decision making
      • Demonstrated experience working with large and complex data sets, including experience with data collection, data extraction and data analysis and its applicable tools
      • Demonstrated knowledge and application of data science methodologies, including demonstrated ability to apply query techniques
      • Proven experience designing and deploying data visualizations and dashboards of key performance indicators
      • Experience administering SQL databases (preferably PostgreSQL or SQL Server)
      • Experience conducting needs assessments to identify and evaluate systems requirements and translate project plans
      • Experience managing data integrity and quality
      • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel), MS Power BI, survey tools, statistical packages and Python programming language
      • A desire to seek out, learn and embrace new and emerging technology
      • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to tailor style based on a diverse audience including executive and technical audiences
      • Strong database management, spreadsheet and presentation design skills
      • Strong knowledge of data visualization best practices, including data mapping, colour theory, and information design
      • An inquiry-based approach to data analysis to address inequitable norms and patterns
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with large datasets
      • Ability to work in a team environment and exercise tact, discretion, flexibility and sound judgment
