      Unlock the Power of Data at Pacific Life. We're seeking a talented Data Architect to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.

      Looking for self-starters to help shape the future of data architecture and drive data-driven success.

      This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to work both in and out of the office.

      As a Data Architect, you'll advance Pacific Life's data initiatives by implementing modern technical solutions. You will be part of the data team within the technology organization, collaborating with scrum masters, data analysts, and other data professionals. Join our highly collaborative, innovative team.

      How you'll help move us forward:

      • Plan, design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture, models, and standards for various Data Engineering projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
      • Understand data needs, regulatory requirements, and business goals, translating these into effective data solutions.
      • Ensure new features and subject areas are modeled to integrate seamlessly with existing structures, providing a consistent view.
      • Develop and maintain documentation of data architecture, flows, and models to facilitate knowledge transfer and compliance.
      • Provide guidance on adopting and maturing Cloud technologies (AWS, Snowflake, etc.) and best practices in data warehouse architecture.
      • Work with governance teams to establish policies for data usage, quality, and security, especially concerning regulatory and reporting needs.
      • Act as a leader to drive business outcomes.
      • Strategic thinker with strong stakeholder management skills.

      The experience you bring:

      • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field; Master's in Computer Science or Data Science preferred.
      • 10+ years in delivering cloud-based data solutions, including modeling and enterprise data warehouses using platforms like Snowflake.
      • 10+ years in SQL, with knowledge of database objects such as stored procedures and materialized views.
      • 3+ years designing data solutions for Actuarial domains.
      • Experience implementing data architecture patterns using best practices.
      • Proficient with multiple databases, including cloud and on-premise.
      • Experience with Agile methodologies.
      • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
      • Team-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

      What makes you stand out:

      • Experience in cloud environments and hybrid architectures.
      • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and AWS technologies.
      • Proficiency in automation, orchestration, and scripting.
      • Understanding of data catalogs, glossaries, data quality, and governance.
      • Experience in complex data systems.
      • Knowledge of the Financial services/Insurance domain.

      Base Pay Range: $148,230.00 - $181,170.00
