      JOB OVERVIEW:

      This position is responsible for the overall management and oversight of our global data architecture. The individual will collaborate and build strong relationships across Henry Schein including with business leads and technology product teams, driving data architectures to aid with the implemen tation of database technologies as enablers for key business capabilities. You blend deep expertise and experience in engineering, technical design, systems and database management with a passion for coaching and mentoring engineering associates.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Ownership, d esign and maint e nance of all aspects of data solutions including modeling, developing, technical documentation, data diagrams and data dictionaries

      • Provide expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices, evaluate best applicable solutions for different use cases

      • Analyze data patterns and optimize data processing

      • Keep current and research new technology trends and products

      SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

      • Advanced understanding of modern data technologies , architectures and practices

      • Expert with industry standard data practices, data strateg ies and data concepts

      • Knowledge of technology and Agile development processes

      • Ability to multi-task

      • 10+ years of architecture or engineering experience in building data pipelines, ETLs, data platforms, data products, distributed data systems or AI/ML

      • 10+ year of experience with SQL

      • 5+ years of healthcare data analytics experience

      • 5+ plus years of job-related experience in programming languages such as Scala, Python, or similar

      • Business and technical curiosity, working with others to foster ideas and produce creative solutions to difficult problems while making sensible choices balancing design and delivery.

      • Proficiency at understanding enterprise data architecture concepts, master data management, data modeling and design techniques.

      • Experience working in complex data environments in an engineering, design, and architecture capacity; including enterprise warehouses, marts, operational stores and data lakes and hubs

      • Experienced with cloud deployment practices and patterns, building data applications that implement cloud native technologies

      • Well-grounded knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices

      • Familiarity with the healthcare data domain with previous experience working with healthcare datasets is a plus

      • Proven leadership skills, demonstrated ability to mentor, influence and partner with engineering, and product teams to deliver scalable robust data solutions.

      • Exposure to Python, Data Science and Machine Learning methodologies desired.

      • Demonstrated organizational savvy and maturity, for working effectively across different organizational units and business groups.

      MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

      Typically 12 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience.

      PREFERRED EDUCATION:

      Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent preferred. May hold two or more industry certifications.

      TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

      To the extent this job is performed in NYC, the salary range for the position of Data Architect is $174,800 to $262,200. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
