Input, maintain, and update DCIM and Asset Management tools.
Monitoring of DC environments using monitoring tools.
Perform or coordinate services for internal customers, including putting racks in place, cabling, powering up, and handoff of data center hardware to internal provisioning teams.
Provide access for vendors and carriers into M&T data centers.
Respond to, resolve, and document issues impacting the physical infrastructure of the data center.
Assist data center project teams with delivery of complex installations.
Maintain hardware inventory and maintenance logs.
Generate and analyze reports on electrical, networking, and RU capacities.
Identify and escalate risk-related issues.
Communicate within a ticketing system that is used and supervised by multiple internal product owners and teams.
Assist with power and network capacity planning and deployment.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points on issues raised.
Flexibility to support 24/7 operations with ability to be on-call in a 24x7x365 environment.
Contribute toward an Infrastructure-as-code environment.
Overview:
The Data Center Analyst is a 24x7x365 position responsible for providing and coordinating physical and logical support to stakeholders and customers in M&T’s Data Centers.
Provides support for all infrastructure systems in our Data Centers. The Data Center Support Specialist will be performing systems integration activities, as well as supporting various engineering teams for hardware preparation, shipping, and integration. The candidate must be knowledgeable in data center best practices, computer hardware components, and networking concepts.
The Data Center Support Specialist completes activities related to installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Ensures system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience
Knowledge of server/storage/network hardware.
Strong interest in learning new DC concepts.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience solving problems on servers, networking devices and IT equipment.
Experience taking on-call shifts and ability to respond to critical events as needed.
Experience raising issues to Sr. staff and management as needed.
IT Hardware Concepts knowledge (RAID, SAN, SCIS, Linux/Unix, GRUB)
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field
Certifications or special training in related technologies
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $93,232.12 - $155,386.87 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.Location:
