Job Title - Data Center Energy Marshal 5
Job Location - Quincy, WA
Job Contract - 6 Months on W2
Job Description:
You have responsibilities including but not limited to being responsible for oversight of the energy isolation program on the construction site for all systems with stored energy, Accountability to ensure all activities related to the energy isolation process are coordinated and executed by the General Contractor and Trades across the assigned location(s) according to established policies and procedures.
Performance objectives should also include:-
Ensure safe working conditions have been established by reviewing documentation (including procedures, job hazard analysis, and permits) and auditing the energy isolation program for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations activities.s
Work with construction and commissioning teams to ensure safe working conditions to properly test and validate MEP systems' installation, operation, and performance.
Support the management of the electrical infrastructures throughout the datacenter campus, ranging from a single large capacity facility to several smaller ones. Safety knowledge is necessary to validate general contractor safe work practices and Lock Out Tag Out procedures for 120V and below, 480V, 7.2- 14kV, and 25kV values.
Knowledge and capability to trace down electrical power through a double and triple redundant electrical system and validate a zero-energy state.
Support and hold accountable the General Contractor and Electrical, Mechanical, and Equipment Vendor Technicians to the Microsoft Energy Isolation Policy.
Partner closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to drive Operational Excellence in all aspects of Hazardous Energy control.
Training new and existing employees in defined Energy Isolation processes and procedures
This individual must have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with Project Management and Trades Persons on the project.
This role requires the ability to know how to work in a commercial construction site environment with highly knowledgeable and qualified individuals, as it relates to their skillset.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment energization, start up and commissioning.
Qualifications:- Strong experience with the control of hazardous energy, risk assessments, and work procedure review. (Power distribution, lighting, grounding, control systems, pneumatics, fluid systems, and mechanical energies)
Established understanding of electrical theory and practical application via your maintenance & operation of critical electrical equipment.
(Paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.)
Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation
(Your ability to interpret blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings, etc.)
Practical experience with Lock-out/Tag-out and verifying MEP systems in a zero-energy state.
Typical task breakdown and rhythm: Auditing electrical methods of procedure for the contractors. NFPA, OSHA, LOTO, MSFT specifications, etc.
