- This role will assist in writing detailed technical DR test plans with various IT groups and subject matter experts.
- Assist with documentation of all elements of technical disaster recovery plans in Service Now.
- Participate in Sev1 and Sev2 incident calls. Possible assignments which will assist in the recovery process
- recommend corrective actions on discovered risks and single points of failure determined through testing and analysis.
- Contribute to the implementation of the DCIM SaaS tool for Data Center management.
- Assist in the development professional reports and metrics.
- Work with the IT technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.
- Understand all testing necessary for a successful DR execution.
- Help ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Basic operational Knowledge - Cloud environments, data replication software, backup/recovery and Basic Networking topology, High Availability design and SaaS,Virtualization (vCenter), IT Infrastructure components such as Servers, load balancers, firewalls, DNS, Backup, and server monitoring, Network designs, applications, network, servers, databases, storage elements and IT Security. Familiarity with application interdependency concepts and applications service mapping topologies.
- Working on Education in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- Leadership skills and being self-driven.
- Self motivated and a desire to learn

Disaster recovery and Data Center Operations are unique in the IT world because they touch a large portion of all IT. To be successful in DR and DC one needs to have a general understanding of how interdependencies, disciplines and systems interact with each other. Interning in this area will give you an overview of how IT functions interact and provide you with a leg-up on ones career in Information Technology.
Job Purpose
The Data Center Operations & Disaster Recovery Intern will assist in implementing NLyte DCIM SaaS and assist with application dependency mapping and test scripts for Disaster Recovery.
The purpose for this position is to provide the individual experience that touches on large areas of the IT landscape while providing Skechers DC and DRO assistance in implementing critical monitoring and test scripts.
