Amazon Web Services is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of Data Centers. We are looking for proven Data Center Technology Senior Manager with solid experience in people management and scaling teams. Data Center Operations (DCO) Cluster Manager will drive the vision for the Data Center Operations in Germany.
We are looking for an inspiring leader capable to drive experienced managers. The ideal candidate would have a background in IT Infrastructure, Data Centers or worked for the industrial manufacturing domain (aircraft, automobiles, consumer electronics, heavy machinery, list not exhaustive) or Military.
The company's infrastructure consists of various custom built and off-the-shelf applications operating on a variety of platforms and other major technologies. The successful candidate will have experience managing a team of 70+ people on a 24/7 rotating shift across multiple Data Centers in the Germany Region. He should be familiar with Problem Change & Incident Management, creating & tracking expenditure, continuously design and implement new mechanisms. The role includes mentoring, developing and growing people in all levels, supporting Infrastructure projects and proposing technical solutions that are scalable.
Key job responsibilities
- Team management of experienced Data Center Managers leading Data Center Technicians. This includes recruitment / people development through coaching and mentoring / performance review / rotation management.
- Define the strategy to improve the efficiency and productivity of day to day 24x7 Data Center Operations.
- Manage and continuously Improve the workflows, processes and throughput for data Centers Operations.
- Manage effectively the global yearly operating budget: CAPEX (technical equipment, infrastructure development), OPEX (cost of personnel, service provision, consumables and team events)
- Ensure all operational KPIs and Metrics are consistent, being measured and met inside AWS France Data Centers.
- Drive innovation and automation within Data Center Operations.
- Challenge the quality and quantity of services being provided by the Data Center Operations team and continuously strive to improve our Customer Experience.
- Management of large-scale events in the Datacenters (crisis situations: thermal or power events, networking issues, etc..)
- Manage Vendor performance.
- Ensure Data Centers are compliant with all relevant security policies and procedures.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Frankfurt Am Main, DEU | Frankfurt, DEU | Frankfurt, HE, DEU- 7 years+ of people management experience with direct reports as their performance manager.
- Ability to learn new technologies related to Data Centers
- Solid data mining / analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of change / incident management.
- High literacy in security, safety and customer data protection.
- Solid communication and decisions making skills in challenging situations and in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent English verbal and written proficiency.
- Knowledge of server hardware (storage system, Network) and maintenance/troubleshooting
- Knowledge and/or experience of Safety, Physical and IT Security, Logistics, Power, Cooling & Facilities Engineering
- Experience with capacity planning
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile
- Project Management skills
- Data Center related certification - CDCP/S/E, CDCMP/TP.
