      NVIDIA's Cloud data centers host ground-breaking products across high-performance computing to machine learning applications for autonomous vehicles and healthcare. At the heart of our data centers is the ability to engineer mechanical and electrical designs in close coupling to NVIDIA's industry-leading GPU and DGX products. As a DC sustainability intern, you will have the excellent opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainability and innovation. This position offers an outstanding chance to chip in to projects sought at harnessing the energy potential within data centers, optimizing resource efficiency, and exploring innovative ways to repurpose waste heat. Your involvement in waste heat recovery (WHR) projects will play a vital role in crafting the future of DC operations.

      What you'll be doing:

      • Conduct research on innovative heat waste recovery technologies.

      • Conduct waste heat assessments to evaluate and analyze data center operations

        to identify opportunities for DCs.

      • Design and implement heat recovery solutions in collaboration with the engineering team and ensure the integration of solutions aligns with data center operation.

      • Develop strategies to optimize energy efficiency through the recovery and reuse of waste heat.

      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with sustainability and performance goals.

      • Participate in the development of innovative cooling solutions to address the evolving needs of data centers.

      • Contribute to the creation and refinement of data center life cycle analysis.

      • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to waste heat

        recovery and sustainability in data centers.

      What we need to see:

      • Currently pursuing a Master or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong thermal and optimization background.

      • Strong understanding of thermal management principles and fluid dynamics.

      • In-depth knowledge of sustainable technologies, including waste heat recovery, advanced cooling solutions, energy-efficient hardware, and innovative data center designs.

      • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to environmental sustainability.

      The hourly rate for our interns is 16 USD - 88 USD. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
