Overview This internship will be working on site in Peoria, IL at the JUMP Trading Simulation and Education Center. This internship will require the student to work full time hours (Monday-Friday). The student will start in the internship end of May 2024 and work until end of July 2024 or beginning of August 2024. Starting pay for this position is $17.00/hour POSITION SUMMARY: The Data Engineer Intern helps maintain database architecture and metadata that supports the Enterprise Data Ecosystem (EDE). The intern develops, tests and maintains data curation processes necessary to extract data from source systems and transform data according to business needs. The intern also supports project initiatives for research and process improvement. Collaborates with appropriate resources to design and develop data structures to meet project requirements and comply with overall EDE design standards and principles. Performs analysis of the scope and requirements for data architecture projects. Work with stakeholders to understand workflows and ensure data is pulled appropriately to meet needs, and transform business requirements into data curation processes. Develops effective error handling and monitoring to notify team of process failures, and communicate data quality and data reconciliation issues to Data Architect to ensure data integrity. Conducts root cause analysis and resolve issues related to EDE and data curation processes. Participates in the development and implementation of EDE standards and best practices. Utilizes leading-edge technologies to integrate data from multiple sources. Enable a real-time analytics environment through custom programming utilizing Java, Python or other languages, device data, and the use of tools such as web services and APls.
