      Data Engineer – LES Job Description

      As a Data Engineer at Liquid Environmental Solutions, you will be designing and building data and analytics solutions to enable better business outcomes for our customers. You will work across organization stakeholders to understand solution requirements and determine solution design. During development of data sets and pipelines for business analysis and operations, you will collect, aggregate, and organize structured/unstructured data from multiple internal and external sources to enable the collection, presentation, and visualization of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers. Your goal is to draw business insights from data through complex analysis, mining, and visualization to help our business and customers achieve desired outcomes and objectives.

      Duties & Responsibilities

      · Use on-premise and cloud expertise in an Azure environment with Microsoft SSIS, SQL Server dimensional models and relational models to deliver quality solutions.

      · Deliver tight, quality T-SQL code optimized to the operational environment.

      · Translate business requirements to technical solutions leveraging strong business acumen.

      · Analyze current business practices, processes, and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics.

      · Deliver designs for transformations and modernizations of enterprise data solutions using Azure cloud data technologies.

      · Provide expertise and value in migrating to a full Azure PaaS/DaaS solution including Data Lake, Azure SQL Server, other Azure databases, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

      · Design, build, and own modern BI data pipelines and centralized warehouse with curated datasets and standardized metrics and business definitions to empower data access and self-service.

      · Create interactive data visualizations that allow the business leaders to adjust quickly to performance and trends.

      Required Skills

      · Demonstrated experience preparing data and building data pipelines.

      · Experienced in turning business use cases and requirements to technical solutions and business process mapping of data and analytics solutions.

      · Hands-on experience in SQL Server relational and dimensional environments, Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure DataBricks, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and PowerBI.

      · Experience with Visual Studio, PowerShell Scripting, ARM templates, Python, JavaScript, Data Modeling, Version Control, Data Transformation, Data Quality Testing, Data Documentation & Lineage, Data Orchestration, CI/CD, Data Visualization, SSIS, SSRS, and Git/Azure DevOps.

      · Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality tools and processes.

      · Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping for technical design and construction of technical data flows and apply methods to solve business problems using Azure Data and Analytics services in combination with building data pipelines, data streams, and system integration.

      Experience

      · At least 3 years of data engineering experience with an understanding of database management and cloud technology implementations.

      · At least 5 years in an IT environment working with relational and dimensional data modeling, SQL and Microsoft T-SQL, Microsoft SSIS packages, ETL frameworks, and data programming.

      · Preferred degree in software engineering, data analytics, or computer operations.
