      Purpose:

      The Data Engineering Manager leads our team in the development and maintenance of our Pharmacy Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) on Azure and Databricks platforms. This role maintains a strong background in data engineering, with hands-on experience in building and managing data pipelines and data warehousing solutions in a healthcare setting utilizing Azure services, particularly Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SQL, PySpark, and Python. This position dives deep into technical details, providing guidance and support to the team while actively contributing to the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure.

      Responsibilities:

      • Leads and mentors a team of data engineers responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Pharmacy Enterprise Data Warehouse.
      • Participates in data engineering activities to build out the elements of the data warehouse.
      • Works with our Program Manager to drive the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering projects, ensuring projects are in alignment with business objectives and timelines.
      • Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to ensure viable architecture design, including scalable and efficient data pipelines, data models, and ETL processes on Azure and Databricks platforms.
      • Oversees platform management, including the configuration, optimization, and management of Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant tools.
      • Establishes and enforces data quality standards, governance policies, and best practices to ensure the integrity and reliability of the Pharmacy EDW.
      • Monitors and optimizes data pipelines and workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, leveraging Azure and Databricks capabilities.
      • Works closely and successfully with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver insights from the Healthcare EDW.
      • Maintains comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes, standards, and configurations. Provides training and support to team members and end-users as needed.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
      • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
      • Extensive hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake.
      • Strong proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Python, and/or Scala for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
      • Experience designing and implementing healthcare data solutions, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
      • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes.
      • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
      • Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members, facilitate decision-making, and resolve conflicts.
      • Familiarity with agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, Azure DevOps (ADO), and version control systems (e.g., Git).

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Proficient with project management tools like MS Project or SmartSheets.
      • Pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experience.

      Work Environment:

      PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy offers flexibility only to eligible employees to work hybrid or remotely without compromising work performance, productivity, or team collaboration. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones in a home office or on-site environment.
