      Job Summary:

      The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately inputting various types of data into computer systems. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of information by reviewing, correcting, and updating records as needed. The Data Entry Clerk follows established procedures and maintains productivity standards while supporting the office or department's clerical functions.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Receives and reviews documents for data entry.

      • Selects the appropriate data entry program and inputs information accurately into the system.

      • Reviews data for errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and contacts appropriate personnel to clarify or correct information as needed.

      • Prioritizes workload based on job urgency and supervisor instructions.

      • Computes and compiles statistical data for management use and report preparation as required.

      • Follows established data entry procedures and ensures compliance with job-specific instructions.

      • Prepares daily and monthly productivity reports, detailing tasks completed, time spent, and output generated.

      • Distributes reports and completed work to appropriate personnel or departments.

      • Performs general clerical and administrative tasks related to the assigned office or department.

      • Works under general supervision, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.

      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      General Experience:

      • One and one-half years (18 months) of experience in a clerical or administrative support role that provided knowledge of office procedures and practices within a business environment.

      Specialized Experience:

      • Six (6) months of experience specifically involving:

        • The use of personal computers to enter data, and/or

        • The use of system programs in a business environment.

      Substitution of Education for Experience:

      • Successful completion of 15 semester hours (half a year of academic study) at the post-high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of general or specialized experience.

      • In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must demonstrate the ability to type at a minimum speed of 25 words per minute (WPM).
