      Data Governance Analyst

      The Opportunity:

      As a data governance analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining the security of our data and compliance with our access control standard. In this role, you will support all aspects of our access control governance operations, focusing on identifying and protecting sensitive data. You will collaborate with the team and data stewards to understand and implement access controls based on data sensitivity and access restrictions or requirements. With your strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, you will develop innovative solutions to problems that arise with the access control processes for our business systems data lake and assist with the maintenance of the access control procedures documentation as processes change and you make improvements.

      How You’ll Contribute:

      As a data governance analyst on our team, you’ll:

      • Review data sources and identify, categorize, and classify sensitive data
      • Create and maintain data policies based on the data access framework
      • Create and manage metadata used in access policies
      • Assist in maintaining a sensitive data element catalog including organization and policy information
      • Perform periodic preliminary reviews of user access and components of the data lake and package findings for leadership signoff
      • Develop and carry out sensitive data access monitoring processes, including responding to usage/access alerts
      • Maintain documentation of data access procedures and compliance measures


      Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

      You Have:

      • 3+ years of experience working in a data governance or data analyst role
      • 1+ years of experience with SQL or Python
      • Knowledge of data governance practices and access control
      • Ability to develop cooperative and constructive working relationships
      • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Business Administration

      Nice If You Have:

      • Experience in managing access controls and permissions for data storage systems
      • Experience with Immuta or data security software
      • Experience with Databricks
      • Experience with data analytics tools and technologies, including Tableau or Power BI
      • Knowledge of agile methodologies and using an ecosystem of collaboration tools, including Confluence and Jira
      • Ability to think critically and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
      • Ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
      • Ability to be highly organized with a strong attention to detail

      Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
