      Position Purpose

      Wealth Management (WM) has embarked on a multi-year transformation project to upgrade its data platform and introduced fit for purpose solutions across the spectrum. This transformation is in particular driven by a specific strategic data plan, aimed at developing both Business and IT capabilities regarding data management, data quality and data analytics/ data science


      Under the direct responsibility of the DCIO and Division Head of DATA SOLUTIONS

      The Data Governance Manager position is a new role to fulfill the functional and technical demands from a Data Governance perspective. Data Governance Manager plays a crucial role in driving Data Governance Services (Data Quality Issue Management, Data Access, Data Catalog Administration and Maintenance) across WMIS platforms. The expectation is that the profile must have the knowledge and ability to understand data needs, the appropriate measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of data and have proficiency in documenting administrative and operational procedures on managing data.

      Direct Responsibilities Data Governance Manager

      • Managing the design, development and implementation of data strategies, standards and procedures to support the Head of Data for IT (DCIO) while facilitating adherence to the Enterprise Governance Policies and Standards.
      • Develop an understanding of Group Data Management Policies and Standards and apply the knowledge in framing the approach and delivering the adoption and changes. Operationalize the proposed assessment guidelines
      • Drive data governance initiatives, across quality and privacy for WMIS (Wealth Management Technology) by building positive partnerships with the IT division and business and apply challenge if required to ensure Group Data Officer Policies, Standards and Frameworks are adhered.
      • Design the guided work towards the finalization of the controls in alignment to IT Risk campaign
      • Working knowledge of data protection and privacy standards including the GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, PDPA, CCPA etc.
      • Experience of utilizing global & industry governance frameworks and maturity models such as – DAMA, DCAM ,ARMA or similar
      • Collate evidences from teams and projects to address effective evaluation of each action control
      • Prepare and formulate the remediation plan for any of the incomplete control points and drive to operationalize the proposed assessment guidelines from the group.
      • Serves as a key liaison between key stakeholders in WMIS (Wealth Management Technology) and Group Data Office – Data Governance for governance reviews and registration activities
      • Act as a subject matter expert and support data governance tools (Collibra) by managing business requirements, represent WMIS in the sprints and conducting business acceptance testing as required

      Ensure commitments/milestones are met with good quality and within budget.

      Functional & Behavioral Competencies

      • A minimum of 7+ years’ experience working in a data governance and/or data operations.
      • Must have 5 years of recent experience in data quality management and data governance functions with clear understanding of data models, data quality rules, and remediation practices.
      • Strong experience is organization design and implementation, development of data strategies, data-related policies and procedures, and design and implementation of data standards and practices.
      • Understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data processing methods and practices.
      • Strong background testing of data controls, and detection of data quality issues.
      • Minimum bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
      • Working knowledge Wealth Management preferred but not necessary
      • Strong project management experience with end-to-end oversight perspective, and with experience reporting program status to senior managers and stakeholders.
      • Strong analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills, including verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
      • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to accept assignments and challenges in rapidly changing environment.

      Contributing Responsibilities

      - Responsible for implementing and enforcing the WMIT Governance as the development framework to optimize IT activities & processes. In so doing, to assist the organization in attaining the level of quality as determined by the IT Management.

      Specific Qualifications (if required)

      • Certifications in data quality, data privacy (GDPR) a plus
      • Good understanding of Wealth Management Products and processes
      • IT knowledge/background.
      • Adept at crafting policy and position papers
      • Exposure to data management tools like Collibra
      • Exposure to BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TOOLS such as TABLEAU and Power BI
