      The Data Governance Manager is responsible for the fitness and use of one or more master data dimensions. Working within the GBS Data Office (GDO) and a wider community of finance data stewards & business users, the role maintains the quality and integrity of master data though the development and embedding of standards, education of users, and oversight of data management practices.

      This role will focus on Enterprise F inance Master Data with a particular focus on the governance of setting up finance master data for new legal entities mainly driven by internal growth or mergers and acquisitions. This data is critical for financial & management reporting accuracy. Applicants must be experienced in overall master data governance processes and be able to co-ordinate any changes in a correct and timely manner. Knowledge and experience of finance data and the processes that consume the data is essential. The role will also include governance of indirect tax code master data.

      This role will focus on Finance Master Data . O bjects will include aspects of Master Data critical for Financial Reporting and Tax Data Compliance . Applicants must be experienced in overall master data Governance processes and have knowledge and experience of Finance data and the Tax Finance processes that consume the data.

      Typical Accountabilities

      • Working with GFS teams including TISO (Transitions, Integrations and Support Office) and Post Deal Management team to coordinate master data required for new legal entities, so they are created in an accurate and timely manner.
      • Act as subject matter expert for enterprise and tax to support GDO data design lead, project teams and business users.
      • Maintain and update data standards for enterprise and tax.
      • Provide oversight and direction for business users and the IT process teams to ensure the enterprise & tax standards are embedded and followed.
      • Provide training, mentoring and support on data standards to business users, data stewards, other participants in the data governance community.
      • Act as the business owner for the requirements of data quality dashboards and monitoring tools.
      • Direct initiatives to cleanse and improve data.
      • Provide an escalation point for exception and compliance decisions.
      • Update stakeholders via working groups, service reviews and project updates.
      • Organise and run the enterprise and tax master data working groups and attend other relevant working groups.
      • Maintain and input to the data object issue and risk registers and drive prioritisation, mitigation and resolution with the data object owner and working group.
      • Provide data design input into S4 Hana programme.

      Essential

      • Have a professional finance qualification eg. CIMA.
      • Proven experience of working within core finance processes like planning and management reporting systems.
      • Experience in the definition, maintenance, and use of core finance master data
      • Strong engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills, including excellent organisational, presentation and influencing skills.
      • A ‘Can do’ attitude to understanding data issues, the impact and proactively driving change.
      • High level of proficiency with common business applications (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint & SAP business user)
      • Senior stakeholder and rule documentation

      Desirable

      • Knowledge of SAP & other financial software
      • Good understanding of finance and tax processes.
      • Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
      • Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge
