      TITLE: Data Integrity & GIS Student (S25-015)
      WORK LOCATION/OFFICE: Airdrie
      STATUS: 30 Temp - Hourly
      NUMBER OF HIRES: 2 total positions

In this role you will gain hands-on work experience, learning from our experienced leaders what it takes to power Alberta communities as you support our team. We have two opportunities for Data Integrity & GIS Students to join us for a 6 month period. This position is eligible for remote work, however, ideally, candidates will be located in close proximity to our Airdrie office.

      Position Responsibilities
      You will gain a variety of valuable work experience including but not limited to:

      • Ensuring data integrity of GIS views including construction and single line diagram (SLD) and applying standards applicable to project delivery
      • Building an understanding of current web map applications
      • Working with stakeholders and customer data sets to integrate into mapping products
      • Performing data quality analysis and provide recommendations and findings
      • Applying common business processes and practices to leverage the existing GIS suite of technologies
      • Preparing GIS cartographic products and associated documentation
      • Applying spatial analysis to enhance reporting requirements of the business
      • Assisting in the implementation of SAIT capstone project initiatives, this may or may not include the project candidate worked on specifically
      • Completing special projects and other duties as assigned

      A Successful Candidate will have:

      • Proven ability to work in a team environment, or independently with supervision
      • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
      • Strong oral and written communication skills
      • Demonstrated analytical skills
      • Ability to take initiatives, find answers to complex questions, and thrive in a diverse environment
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SQL querying
      • Ability to quickly learn other computer-based applications
      • Demonstrated interest in gaining experience in all aspects of the electricity industry
      • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Proficiency with ESRI software, specifically the ArcGIS suite and its extensions
      • Experience working in Hexagon G-Electric GIS would be considered an asset

      Mandatory Qualifications:

      • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Applied Technology GIS program
