      Montrose’s Advisory and Specialty Services Division supports clients across public and private sectors to meet their unique and complex environmental demands. Our experts take a strategic approach to address broader environmental goals from sustainability program development, data-driven decision-making using economics and ecology expertise, data management and validation, software strategy and implementation support, chemistry quality assurance, and EHSS auditing. We work through our highly-specialized practice areas to deliver excellent quality, impactful solutions based on data integrity.

      A DAY IN THE LIFE

      We are seeking to add a Data Manager (Environmental Chemistry) to our Data Management team. This is an entry-level professional environmental data management position supporting environmental project needs by utilizing environmental data management platforms such as EarthSoft’s EQuIS™. This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

      • Process electronic data files into EarthSoft’s EQuIS.

      • Manage & manipulate environmental data using custom database tools.

      • Run, modify, or develop reports & queries to ensure data quality and accuracy.

      • Respond to client data requests.

      • Automation of technical and business processes, where and when applicable.

      • Act as an advisor in developing budgets and proposals for large scale analytical chemistry, geoscience, and data management projects.

      • Monitor and report on project progress to stake holders, both internal and external

      • Assist in the design and implementation of enterprise-wide environmental information and quality management systems and technical data management systems for large public and private sector clients.

      • Always maintain confidentiality.

      • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.

      • Participate in the company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.

      • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.

      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

      To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

      • High school diploma with 5 or more years’ experience with applicable skills.

      • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Access.

      • Knowledge of EQuIS.

      • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

      • Computer literate - capable of performing tasks such as: creating spreadsheets; composing correspondence; manage databases; and create presentations, reports, and documents using desktop software and digital graphics.

      • Exhibit professionalism in dealings with other employees, customers and suppliers.

      • Detail-oriented.

      • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.

      • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
