- Build RTF templates to create interactive reports in Oracle Cloud
- Troubleshoots and maintains existing reports in Oracle Cloud and InfoEd
- Maintains automations for Oracle Cloud and InfoEd Reports
- Uses the Reporting Tool to extract data from InfoEd
- Adds new departments to Oracle Cloud
- Adds new sponsors to InfoEd
- Uses data extracted from Oracle Cloud and InfoEd to create interactive reports and dashboards using Excel, Google Sheets, Google Studio, and Oracle BI tools
- Responds to end-user inquiries by providing support and assistance in the definition and resolution of problems. Is able to communicate with staff and team members to include them in the solution. Monitors adherence to protocols and user manual instructions; trains users when new features are added.
- Creates and designs queries of data, collaborates with other team members and users to identify problem areas, and be proactive in recommending solutions to problems.
- Helps maintain the RASA Intranet page with current information and accurate documentation
- Summarizes and present data and results clearly and accurately in verbal and written communications and numerical and graphical forms
- Works with OSP and DRED groups on special projects and maintains documentation
- Maintains Department and Sponsor setup and monitors active and inactive users within OSP research systems
- Researches new functionality within RASA-supported systems to enhance current usage or improve current processes
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of the above.

- Understanding of applying analytical methods to business problems, driving improved decision-making and outcomes
- Ability to write complex SQL statements for data retrieval and updates
- Experience developing data models and programming in languages or applications as needed to support the development of reports and analysis to answer strategic, tactical, structured, or unstructured business questions.
- Experience working in or around research administration systems.
- Experience with federal research regulations and best practices.
- Experience with creating high-quality reports using querying tools
- Previous work in ERP systems and managing multiple projects and systems simultaneously
- Previous work documenting complex processes
- Knowledge of SQL

The DRA will extract, analyze, visualize, and describe a variety of sponsored program-based data for use internally for the project lifecycle and externally for informational and official reporting to state and federal agencies. They will create reporting systems to help track and analyze current relationships. All of this will be done while working with other offices in the research space as well as OIT to make sure efforts align across campus. They will help troubleshoot and resolve issues, as well as test and document current and new functionality.
This role is partially grant-funded for four years (ends 1/2027); ongoing funding will rely on the identification of new funding sources
Department Overview: Research Systems and Analytics (RASA) works as a team to deliver a wide variety of support services to Research Compliance, all Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) functional areas, other Division of Research and Economic Development (DRED) offices, and the campus community. We are seeking a Data Research Analyst 2 to join our team and help with exciting new projects!
Level Scope: Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

The major responsibility of this position is to support the establishment of the IT and reporting systems that will allow for the measurement, tracking, and analysis of current relationships related to a newly awarded National Science Foundation - Accelerating Research Translation sponsored project. Key responsibilities that contribute to this overall goal include:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus 2 years experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Salary and Benefit s: $57,200 - $65,000 depending on experience.
