Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking a data science intern for our Actuarial Department. As part of our team, you will gain hands-on experience in the data science field by working with team members on various analytical projects.

This position is a 37.5 hour work week Monday through Friday during the summers months. Work from home may be available two days a week once trained to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with experienced data science professionals in the development and review of models.
• Collecting and analyzing data to be used in assessing trends.
• Summarizing analytical findings and presenting to the actuarial team.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field and continuing studies in the Fall of 2024.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis.
• Experience with statistical software such as R and Python.
• Strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
