Data Science Manager II, Generative AI

Analytics Innovation:

What you need to know:• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, senior business leaders, data / analytics / ML engineers and software developers to identify, deploy and monitor impactful data science solutions.
• Project Management: Prioritize, plan and drive development and successful deployment of data science projects from identification of use cases to implementation of models. Define and monitor KPIs to continually measure outcomes and model performance.
• Advancing Capabilities: Develop internal assets, source external solution providers, and create partnerships that mature advanced analytics tools and methods to deliver actionable insights. Stay current with emerging technologies and techniques and evaluate and guide fit with organizational technical architecture, capabilities, and strategy.
• Model Governance: Collaborate with privacy, legal and regulatory teams to develop, establish and ensure compliance in the ethical use of data science models. Define, document, and enforce best practices for model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
What we’re looking for:Experience:
• 10+ years in data science
• 5+ years in financial services or insurance
Skills:
• Expertise in data analysis, deep / machine learning, statistical modeling and with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompting or fine-tuning.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, AWS SageMaker or others with AI/ML and cognitive services from a cloud provider
• Expertise in developing and deploying end-to-end AI/ML solutions
• Experience with NLP / NLU / Generative / Conversational AI technologies and methodologies
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Java and relevant frameworks and libraries
• Strong data manipulation abilities using for example Pandas, NumPy and SQL
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark
• Ability to conceptualize and deploy complex machine analytic and learning models using Agile methods as well as in collaboration in a highly matrix organizational structure
• Excellent project management skills with a proven track record delivering at speed and scale impactful data science solutions on time and within budget
• Strong communication skills to articulate value and method of data science solutions to both non-technical and technical audience
• Ability to lead, motivate and create joint movement
• Ability to travel as neededFor positions based in Jersey City, the base salary range is $94,000-$133,000. For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $98,000-$139,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
