      To our tech center in Prague, we are looking for a Data Scientist, Biochemistry for biological and chemical research data.

      We have an exciting new job opportunity in our R&D IT department at our Global Technology Center in Prague. This role will be dedicated to the development and application of data engineering and data science techniques in R&D.

      You will join a professional and dynamic team with the right mindset. In this position, the successful candidate will report to the R&D Informatics product-line lead by working with our Drug and vaccine Discovery teams driving and implementing solutions to accelerate research and pharmaceutical development projects. In addition to working alongside a world-class team of scientists in driving R&D activities, the Data Engineer will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the company’s R&D functions throughout various phases of drug and vaccine development. Responsible for cleaning, analyzing and interpreting chemical and biological data, analyzing, and testing virtual screening data.

      Responsibilities

      • Develops and constructs data products and services and integrates them into used systems and business processes

      • Accesses, cleans, prepares the data, ensuring it can be reused as needed'

      • Designs, builds, and maintains data pipeline architecture - ingest, process, and deliver data to stakeholders

      • Batch processes collected data, formats data in an optimized way to bring it analyze-ready

      • Understands the customer/stakeholder’s business needs/priorities and helps building solutions that support our business goals

      • Will be working in a multi-disciplinary team with focus on bio- and cheminformatics projects, in this team you will be accountable for data engineering and sometimes data science parts

      • Collaborates and works with other data engineers and designs, develops and maintains data pipelines to extract data from a variety of sources and populate data lake and data warehouse

      • Understand available AI/ML models, train and finetune the models on R&D data in animal health

      • Conduct AI/ML feasibility and proof of concept studies focused on animal health data

      • Includes specializations within domains, such as R&D with focus on Biology and Chemistry

      Qualifications

      • Academic level – e.g., graduated bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the STEM fields ideally applied on Biochemistry. Ideally with some experience in Life Science

      • Strong programming skills in Python

      • Experience with data storage and processing technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL jobs, DataBricks, NoSQL)

      • Experience with GitHub or similar tools for collaborative software development

      • Effective at working with business partners to understand their needs to translate them into clear requirements.

      • Fluent in English; Good communication and coordination skills to align and manage activities, ideally with agile methodologies.

      • Experience with DevSecOps practices, such as continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), containerization (e.g., Docker), version control systems (e.g., Git)

      • Domain knowledge Biology and/or Chemistry

      • Experience with Chem-/Bioinformatics tech stack (e.g., Rdkit, sklearn, Jupyter, R, Conda, Nextflow)

      • Familiarity with NLP and AI technics is a plus

      • Experience with public cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (AWS is preferred) is a plus
