      Minimum qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
      • 5 years of work experience with analysis applications (extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, or solving business problems), and coding (Python, R, SQL), or 2 years of experience with a Master's degree.

      Preferred qualifications:

      • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

      Help serve Google's worldwide user base of more than a billion people. Data Scientists provide quantitative support, market understanding, and strategic insights to partners across the organization. As a data enthusiast, you serve as an analytics expert, using numbers to inform better decisions, weaving stories from data, and making critical recommendations to Engineering and Product Management teams.

      Google Play, as the most trusted marketplace for Android, offers music, movies, books, apps, and games. The team working on Google Play's gaming vertical handles everything from backend engineering to shaping product strategy and forming partnerships with game developers.

      The Play Games Data Science and Analytics team combines problem-solving skills with commercial acumen to provide insights and operational excellence, supporting the goal of delighting users, empowering developers, and creating value for Google. We collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to support gaming products.

      Google is an engineering company that hires people with broad technical skills to tackle major technological challenges and impact users worldwide. Our engineers work on scalable systems, large-scale applications, and new platforms across various Google products.

      The US base salary range for this full-time role is $132,000-$189,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary offers are role, level, and location-dependent, with individual pay influenced by skills, experience, and education. Recruiters will share specific salary details during hiring.

      Key responsibilities:

      • Perform analysis using tools like SQL, R, Python, utilizing technical knowledge to work with custom or existing data models.
      • Gather, extract, and validate data from various sources to ensure quality.
      • Report KPIs to support business reviews and translate analysis into insights or product opportunities.
      • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to influence product development, with guidance.
      • Build and prototype analyses and business cases, developing knowledge of Google data structures and metrics.
