- Develop and implement machine learning models to analyze clinical and operational data, providing insights that drive decision-making
- Utilize Generative AI and RAG frameworks to enhance data analysis and predictive modeling capabilities
- Work with structured and unstructured data to identify patterns and recommend improvements in clinical workflows, quality measures, and business processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, administrators, and IT professionals, to align data science initiatives with organizational goals
- Perform data wrangling, feature engineering, and model validation to ensure high-quality outputs
- Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in all analytics projects
- Review, assess, and provide an analytical opinion on the adoption of standardized data science models, including AI, available through enterprise platforms like Epic
- Create custom data science models, including AI solutions that align with enterprise strategy and avoid redundancy, collaborating with business leaders and researchers as needed
- Work with Data & Analytics Center of Excellence technical teams to promote custom data science models into appropriate environments – eg. Nebula, third-party platforms
- Train, manage, and maintain enterprise data science models for platforms like Epic and custom models
- Review, assess, and provide analytical input for AI governance requests
- Drive the development or modification of advanced analytics and data science methodologies using AI, ML, and statistical models to meet organizational needs
- Partner with other leaders in the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence to address analytics requests and ensure the effective delivery of advanced analytics services
- Work with technical teams to create ML pipelines and reusable features for the rapid creation of models
- Develop, train, manage, and maintain Generative AI GenAI - solutions
- Explore and implement GenAI technologies, including large language models LLMs, to enhance applications or create new solutions, working with RAG technologies, embedding models, and crafting effective LLM prompts
- Ensure the reliable and scalable deployment, support, and maintenance of GenAI models in production environments
- Contribute to a framework for citizen data scientists and researchers to create, promote, and maintain data models
- Serve as an advanced analytics and data science subject matter expert, driving best practices among analytics team members, leadership, business analysts, and end users
- Promote the effective usage and deployment of advanced analytics tools while mentoring and training analytics team members
- Drive best practices in data governance and contribute to relevant workgroups and committees
- Ensure data privacy and security, adhering to regulations such as HIPAA
- Apply data governance principles to maintain data quality and integrity
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and other relevant programming languages such as R, Spark, or Java
- Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Deep understanding of machine learning, natural language processing NLP, and deep learning techniques, dex, Hugging Face, Vector databases, Embedding models, and Prompting techniques
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical methods, including boosting, generalized linear models, random forests, artificial neural networks, clustering, and decision tree learning,
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques
- Experience with notebook-based workflows - Jupyter, R, Spark - and the creation of reusable code packages and libraries
- Strong knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and algorithms, such as linear algebra and Bayesian statistics
- Experience in DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, version control using GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines using Concourse
- Experience with databases and data warehousing technologies
- Familiarity with computer vision applications is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data findings to non-technical audiences
- Experience in Electronic Health Records EHR data analysis and integration
- Familiarity with healthcare quality metrics, operational efficiency models, and clinical decision support systems
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to healthcare data
- Epic certifications in Cogito
- Epic badge or certification in Cognitive Computing Platform

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
This role involves working with large datasets across clinical and non-clinical domains to identify trends, build predictive models, and drive actionable insights.
The Data Scientist will also play an active role in the AI governance process as a subject matter expert.
The ideal candidate will have experience in machine learning, Generative AI, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation frameworks, with a strong understanding of healthcare analytics.
